Peruvian club founded in 1948 by medical students, it became an important force in Peruvian football with participations in Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana.

History

Cienciano was founded in 1948 by medical students from Lima, hence the nickname 'Los Doctores'. The club rose in Peruvian football during the 1950s and established itself as a competitive force until the present day. It participated prominently in several editions of Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana, marking a regular presence in international competitions. Won three Copa Sudamericana titles in 2003, 2004 and 2005, establishing itself as one of the most important clubs in modern Peru.
