One of Paraguay's most traditional clubs, Libertad is one of the main rivals of Cerro Porteño and Olimpia in the capital Asunción.

History

Founded in 1903 in Asunción, Club Libertad is one of the oldest and most traditional sports associations in Paraguay. The club ranks, alongside Olimpia and Cerro Porteño, among the most popular teams in the country. Libertad has won numerous titles in the Paraguayan Championship throughout its history, and has also competed in several editions of the Copa Libertadores, reaching the final of the competition in 2006. With home matches at Estadio Doctor Nicolás Leoz, the club maintains a strong tradition in player development and is constantly among the main protagonists of Paraguayan football.
