Clube Atlético Juventus

Club from the Mooca neighborhood in São Paulo, founded in 1924 by workers from the Crespi Textile Factory. It is known for the Conde Rodolfo Crespi stadium, one of the oldest stadiums still in use in São Paulo football.

History

Clube Atlético Juventus was founded on April 20, 1924, in Mooca, a neighborhood with a strong presence of Italian immigrants in São Paulo. Its origins are linked to the workers' team of the Crespi Textile Factory, belonging to industrialist Rodolfo Crespi, whose name the stadium bears. The maroon and white colors and the nickname 'Naughty Kid' marked the team's identity, which competed in the first division of the Campeonato Paulista for several decades of the twentieth century and earned a reputation for troubling the major São Paulo clubs in its stadium. The most important title in Juventus's history is the Campeonato Paulista Second Division, won in 1983, a result that returned the club to the state elite. The club was also champion of the Série A2 in 2004. In recent decades, Juventus has competed mainly in the lower divisions of the Campeonato Paulista, maintaining Conde Rodolfo Crespi as one of the most traditional stadiums in the city of São Paulo.
