Clube do Remo

Clube do Remo is one of the great clubs in Paraense football, founded on February 5, 1905, in Belém. It plays the Re-Pa derby against Paysandu, one of the most traditional in North Brazil.

History

Remo was born on February 5, 1905, in Belém (PA), as a club dedicated to rowing, the sport that gave origin to its name. Football was incorporated later and became the main passion of the blue supporters. Throughout the 20th century, the club established itself as one of the major forces in the Paraense Championship and, alongside Paysandu, formed the Re-Pa derby, considered one of the greatest in Brazilian football outside the South-Southeast axis. The club's home is Estádio Evandro Almeida, the Baenão, from which came the nickname Fortaleza do Baenão. In matches with larger crowds, Remo also uses the Estádio Olímpico do Pará, the Mangueirão. On the national scene, the club won Series C of the Brazilian Championship in 2005 and, in 2021, the Copa Verde, a tournament that brings together teams from the North and Center-West regions.
