History

Founded in 1901, Nautico Capibaribe is the oldest active football club in Pernambuco, having played an important role in organizing football in the Northeast. The club has won numerous state titles and had relevant participations in the Brazilian Championship, including seasons in Serie A in the 2000s. In recent years, Timbu has alternated between divisions of Brazilian football, maintaining strong popular support in Recife and the metropolitan region.
