History
Cordino Esporte Clube was founded in 2010 in the city of Barra do Corda, in central Maranhão, with the aim of giving the interior of the state a competitive representative in professional football. The club quickly rose to the state scene and, in 2018, achieved its greatest feat: the title of the Maranhão Championship, breaking the hegemony of the capital clubs from São Luís, such as Sampaio Corrêa and Moto Club. With the state championship, Cordino secured a spot in national competitions, competing in the Copa do Brasil and Series D of the Brazilian Championship. The club plays its matches at Estádio Leandro Cláudio da Silva, the Leandrão, and established itself as a force in the interior of Maranhão.
