History
Corinthians in 2009 was assembled after the Serie B title in 2008, which returned the club to the elite of Brazilian football. The coach was Mano Menezes, and the signing of forward Ronaldo in late 2008 gave enormous visibility to the season. With Ronaldo on the field, the team won the Campeonato Paulista in 2009 and then the Copa do Brasil, overcoming Internacional in the final. The Copa do Brasil title was the club's third in the competition, after 1995 and 2002, and secured a spot in the 2010 Libertadores. The squad combined veteran Ronaldo with players such as Elias, Cristian, Chicão and Dentinho, and consolidated the club's recovery after the 2007 relegation.
