Corinthians is the club of the people, with one of the largest and most passionate fan bases in Brazil. World champion in 2000 and 2012, the club represents the identity and fighting spirit of São Paulo.
History
Founded in 1910 by workers from the Bom Retiro neighborhood in São Paulo, Corinthians has always been the club of the working classes. In the 1980s, Democracia Corinthiana was a revolutionary experiment in self-management in world sports, led by philosopher Sócrates. In 2000, the club won the inaugural FIFA Club World Cup and, in 2012, repeated the achievement by defeating Chelsea in the final. It is the Brazilian club with the most world titles.
