Esporte Clube Costa Rica

EC Costa Rica is a traditional club from the interior of Mato Grosso do Sul, based in the municipality of Costa Rica, with regular participations in the South Mato Grosso Championship.

History

Esporte Clube Costa Rica was founded in the municipality of Costa Rica, in the northern region of Mato Grosso do Sul, becoming over the years one of the main sporting references in the city. The club emerged from a movement of local amateurs who sought to represent the municipality in competitions organized by the state federation. Over the decades, the club consolidated a loyal fan base in the region and began regularly competing in the South Mato Grosso Championship, a competition in which it faces traditional rivals from the interior of the state. Despite not having significant state titles at the elite level, EC Costa Rica is recognized by the local community as a symbol of sporting identity for the municipality, maintaining youth categories and player development projects for regional football.
