Regatas Brazil Club, the CRB, is the largest and most traditional club in Alagoas, founded in 1912 in Maceió. The 'Galo da Praia' is the greatest champion of the Alagoas Championship and one of the references in northeastern Brazilian football, with a passionate fan base and a centennial history.

History

Founded on September 25, 1912 on the banks of Mundaú Lake in Maceió, Regatas Brazil Club initially emerged as a rowing club before embracing football with the same intensity. Quickly, the CRB won the hearts of Alagoas residents and established itself as the most popular club in the state. The Alagoas Championship was the main stage for CRB's glory throughout the 20th century. With dozens of state titles, the 'Galo da Praia' built historical superiority that places it as the competition's greatest winner. The rivalry with ASA and CSA produces thrilling classics that grip the state. In the 1980s and 1990s, CRB came to compete in Serie A of the Brazilian Championship, facing major national clubs and revealing talents who went on to have careers at prominent clubs. The club formed players who wore the shirts of Flamengo, Corinthians and other powerhouses of Brazilian football. Rei Pelé Stadium — popularly known as Trapichão — is the home of CRB in Maceió. In the 2010s and 2020s, the club returned to regularly compete in Serie B of the Brazilian Championship, reaffirming its position as one of the main representatives of northeastern Brazilian football.
