US Cremonese

US Cremonese is a historic club from the city of Cremona, in northern Italy, known for its intermittent spells in Serie A, including its return to the Italian elite in the 2022-23 season after 26 years of absence.

History

Founded in 1903, US Cremonese built its history mainly between Serie B and Serie C of Italian football, with occasional spells at the national elite. The club had its most prominent period between the late 1980s and early 1990s, when it competed in Serie A for several consecutive seasons and also competed in the UEFA Cup. After decades in the lower divisions, Cremonese secured promotion to Serie A in the 2021-22 season, marking the club's return to the Italian first division after a long absence.
