Centro Sportivo Alagoano is the largest football club in the state of Alagoas, founded on November 9, 1913 in Maceió. Known by the nickname Azulão, the club is the greatest symbol of Alagoan football and has competed in Serie A of the Brazilian Championship.

History

Founded on November 9, 1913, Centro Sportivo Alagoano is the main football association in the state of Alagoas. With its traditional blue and white colors, CSA has built over more than a century a unique identity in northeastern football. Rei Pelé Stadium, located in Maceió, is home to Azulão and the stage for great moments in Alagoan football. The stadium was named in honor of the King of Football as recognition of the greatness of the player considered the greatest of all time. The club has won dozens of editions of the Alagoan Championship, affirming its hegemony in state football. In the national competition, CSA returned to Serie A of the Brazilian Championship in 2019 after a long absence from the elite, experiencing one of the most remarkable moments in its recent history.
