PFC CSKA Moscow
CSKA Moscow is the most successful club in post-Soviet Russia and one of the most traditional in the country. Historically linked to the Soviet Armed Forces, the club won titles both in the Soviet era and in the modern Russian era. It is the only Russian club to have won a European tournament.
History
CSKA Moscow won the UEFA Cup in 2004-05, becoming the first and only Russian club to win a European title. Domestically, the club dominated Russian football in the 2000s and 2010s, winning multiple titles of the Russian Premier League. Players such as Vasili Berezutski, Sergei Ignashevich and Brazilian Daniel Carvalho were club idols. CSKA also reached the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League in 2009-10.
