CSKA Sofia
One of Bulgaria's most titled clubs, CSKA Sofia dominated Bulgarian football during the communist era and remains a traditional force in the country.
History
PFC CSKA Sofia was founded in 1948 in the Bulgarian capital and quickly became the country's most dominant club during the communist period, linked to the Bulgarian Army. For decades, CSKA competed for national supremacy with Levski Sofia, starring in one of Eastern Europe's greatest classics, and participated in several editions of the European Cup. After the fall of the communist regime, the club faced financial and administrative instability, but remains one of Bulgaria's most traditional and popular teams.
