Club Sportivo Paraibano
Club Sportivo Paraibano, known as CSP, is one of the most traditional and oldest clubs in Paraíba, based in the Roger neighborhood in João Pessoa. It is one of the historic major rivals of Botafogo-PB in the state classic.
History
Founded in 1913, CSP is one of the pioneering clubs in Paraíban football, having competed for decades in the state's main tournaments. The club has been Paraíban champion several times throughout its history, especially in the decades from 1940 to 1970, a period when it rivaled directly with Botafogo-PB for the title of greatest power in Paraíban football. Over the years, CSP lost ground to other state clubs, but maintained its tradition and loyal fan base in the Roger neighborhood. The club alternates participation between the first and second divisions of the Paraíban Championship, seeking to reclaim its glory days. Currently, CSP remains a symbol of resistance in amateur and semi-professional Paraíban football, being a historical reference for football in Brazil's Northeast region.
