Democrata Futebol Clube
Democrata Futebol Clube is one of the most traditional clubs in the interior of Minas Gerais, based in Governador Valadares. It regularly competes in the Minas Gerais State Championship and regional competitions.
History
Founded in 1913, Democrata is one of the oldest clubs in Minas Gerais, with strong tradition in the Vale do Rio Doce region. Throughout its history, the club alternated between competing in Minas Gerais state divisions, being a sports reference in the city of Governador Valadares. The club has previously competed in the Brazilian Championship and maintains historical rivalry with other teams from the interior of Minas Gerais. Its stadium, Alberto Marques, hosts traditional matches in the region. Despite not having won major national titles, Democrata remains a symbol of resilience of interior Minas Gerais football, developing athletes for the state scene.
