History
Democrata Futebol Clube was founded in 1936 in the city of Sete Lagoas, in the interior of Minas Gerais, becoming over the decades one of the main sports representatives of the municipality. The club competed in several editions of the Minas Gerais State Championship, alternating participations between the first and second state divisions, and also had stints in national access competitions, such as the former Serie C of the Brazilian Championship. With a strong identity in the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte, Democrata-SL maintains a tradition of developing athletes and organizing youth-level competitions, remaining active in the interior Minas Gerais football scene.
