Deportivo Cali is one of the biggest clubs in Colombia, founded in 1912 in the city of Cali. Nicknamed 'El Azucarero', a reference to the sugar mills in the region, it is one of the most popular clubs in the country.
History
Founded on February 18, 1912, Deportivo Cali is one of the most traditional clubs in South American football. The club won multiple titles in the Colombian Championship and reached the Copa Libertadores final in 1978, 1998, and 1999. In the 1960s and 1970s, it featured important Brazilian and European players who helped shape Colombian football. The classic match against América de Cali, the 'Clásico Vallecaucano', is one of the most passionate in South America.
