History

Founded in 1971 in the city of Cuenca, Deportivo Cuenca established itself as one of the main representatives of Ecuador's southern region in professional football. The club alternated between participations in Ecuador's Serie A and Serie B throughout its history, maintaining strong identification with the local fan base, known for their support during matches at Estadio Alejandro Serrano Aguilar. Deportivo Cuenca also competed in continental competitions organized by CONMEBOL, representing the football of Ecuador's interior against the major clubs from Quito and Guayaquil.
