FC Dinamo Bucharest

FC Dinamo Bucharest

FC Dinamo Bucharest is the greatest rival of Steaua and one of the most traditional clubs in Romania. Founded in 1948 as a club of the Romanian Ministry of Interior, Dinamo was a dominant force in national football during the communist era. The Dinamo Stadium, with a capacity of over 15,000 spectators, is the historic home of the club in Bucharest.

History

FC Dinamo Bucharest dominated Romanian football in the 1980s, winning multiple Liga I titles and reaching the semi-finals of the European Cup in 1984, where they were eliminated by Liverpool. The club produced world-class players such as Gheorghe Hagi (who also played for Steaua) and Ion Oblemenco. The rivalry with Steaua, known as the 'Eternal Derby of Bucharest', is one of the most intense in Eastern Europe. In recent years, the club has faced financial difficulties, but remains a historical reference in Romanian football.
