Esporte Clube São Bernardo
Esporte Clube São Bernardo is a traditional club from the São Paulo ABC region, founded in 1928 in São Bernardo do Campo. It is one of the oldest clubs in the region and competes in the divisions of the São Paulo Championship.
History
Esporte Clube São Bernardo was founded in 1928 in São Bernardo do Campo, in the São Paulo ABC region, becoming one of the oldest clubs in the city. Over decades, the club established itself as a reference in local football, training athletes and competing in tournaments organized by the São Paulo Football Federation. Known for its black and white colors, the club plays its home matches at Estádio Primeiro de Maio, a traditional venue for football in the city, which also hosts matches from other clubs in the region. EC São Bernardo has gone through different divisions of São Paulo football throughout its history, alternating between periods of greater and lesser prominence. In recent decades, it came to coexist in the city with São Bernardo Futebol Clube, founded in 2004, with whom it shares the preference of the local fanbase. Despite not having major national achievements, the club maintains historical and social importance for ABC football, being remembered as a pioneer of the sport in São Bernardo do Campo.
