History

Entrerriense Football Club was founded on December 14, 1925 in Três Rios, a city in inland Rio de Janeiro state. The club's name refers to Entre-Rios, the former name of the region located between the Paraibuna and Paraíba do Sul rivers, used before the municipality's emancipation in 1938. The nickname Galo and the mascot Galo Carijó reference the fighting spirit of the rooster. The club's colors are black and white, and the shield bears the monogram EFC. Estádio Odair Gama, with a capacity of 10 thousand people, is the team's home. The main state title of Entrerriense is the Carioca second division championship, won in 2001. After the last relegation, the club competed in the Carioca Series A2 for three seasons and left professional football in 2007.
