Enyimba FC

Enyimba FC is the most successful club in Nigerian football history and the first African team to win the CAF Champions League in two consecutive years. Founded in 1976 in the city of Aba in Abia State, the club represents the Igbo people and its name means 'The Great Elephant of the People' in the local language. Enyimba transformed the city of Aba into a center of African football in the early 2000s.

History

In 2003 and 2004, Enyimba made history by winning the CAF Champions League in consecutive years, becoming the first African club to achieve such a feat. The club also won the African Super Cup and represented Africa in the FIFA Club World Cup. With multiple Nigerian championship titles, Enyimba is the most winning team in the Nigeria Professional Football League. The continental achievement was a historic moment for Nigerian football and put the club on the world football map.
