Traditional club of Capixaba football, founded in the early twentieth century and one of the main historical rivals of football in Espírito Santo.

History

Espírito Santo Football Club is one of the oldest and most traditional associations in the state of Espírito Santo, with strong presence in the disputes of the Capixaba Championship throughout the entire twentieth century. The club built historical rivalries with other teams from Vitória, being a protagonist in state classics closely followed by local supporters. Throughout its trajectory, the club won several state titles, consolidating itself as one of the traditional forces of Capixaba football, although without major expression in national competitions organized by the CBF. In recent years, Espírito Santo FC has faced structural and financial difficulties, common to several traditional clubs in states with less economic strength in Brazilian football, but continues to compete in regional competitions and keeps its century-old history alive.
