Esportivo Sports and Recreational Society is one of the most traditional clubs in the Serra Gaucha region, founded in the early twentieth century in the city of Bento Goncalves, in Rio Grande do Sul.

History

Esportivo was founded in 1917 in Bento Goncalves and is among the oldest clubs in Gaucho football, having competed in several editions of the Gaucho Championship throughout the twentieth century. The club is one of the historic representatives of Serra Gaucha in the state scenario, with recurring participation in the access divisions of Rio Grande do Sul football. It maintains a strong regional identity, being a sports symbol of the city of Bento Goncalves and the state's traditional wine-producing region.
