History
Estácio de Sá was founded in 1913 in Rio de Janeiro and consolidated itself as one of the most traditional clubs in Rio de Janeiro football. During the 1910s and 1920s, the club was respected for the technical quality of its players and for its tradition in discovering talents. It participated consistently in the Campeonato Carioca, being three-time state champion (1913, 1914, 1915). Even with the transformations of Brazilian football, it maintained its historical importance as a formative institution. Currently it functions as a training center and preserves the memory of Rio de Janeiro football.
