History
Futebol Clube de Famalicão was founded in Vila Nova de Famalicão, in northern Portugal, and for decades alternated participations between the intermediate divisions of Portuguese football. The club gained new dimension from the end of the 2010s, when it began to count on partnerships and external investment, which enabled the hiring and loan of young players in conjunction with larger European clubs. In 2019, Famalicão achieved promotion to the First League, the elite of Portuguese football, and surprised in their debut season by competing for places in European competitions, becoming one of the championship's revelations. Since then, the club has established itself as a stable team in the First League, hosting its matches at the 22 de Junho Municipal Stadium and being recognized for its youth development work and player training that subsequently reinforce other Portuguese and European clubs.
