History

Founded in 1911, FC Krasnodar has a long history in Russian football. The club gained increasing prominence from the 21st century onwards, when it was modernized and began regularly competing in the elite of Russian football. FC Krasnodar participated several times in the UEFA Champions League and is an important institution in southern Russian football, representing the city of Krasnodar on the international sports scene.
