Ferroviária Women's
Women's team from Associação Ferroviária de Esportes, from Araraquara (SP), one of the pioneers and most traditional in Brazilian women's football in the 2010s.
History
The women's section of Ferroviária was established in 2013, at a time when few Brazilian clubs invested in women's football. The team quickly stood out in the interior of São Paulo, forming one of the first competitive and organized teams in the country. In 2015 and 2016, Locomotiva won two consecutive titles of the Brazilian Women's Football Championship, surprising teams from traditionally larger clubs and establishing itself as one of the powerhouses of national women's football in that period. With the growth of investment from major clubs in women's football from the late 2010s, Ferroviária lost some of its prominence, but remains remembered as one of the fundamental teams in establishing the sport in Brazil.
