The Associação Ferroviária de Esportes is one of the most traditional clubs in the interior of São Paulo State, founded in 1909 by railway workers in Araraquara. Known as the Locomotive, the maroon team accumulates titles in the São Paulo Cup and maintains a strong presence in the São Paulo Championship, being a reference in football from the interior of São Paulo State.

History

The Ferroviária was founded on September 9, 1909 by railway workers from the city of Araraquara in the state of São Paulo, carrying from its origin the hardworking and combative spirit of railroad workers. Throughout its history, the club became one of the pillars of interior São Paulo football. The Fonte Luminosa Stadium, inaugurated in 1952, is the home of the Locomotive and one of the most traditional stadiums in the interior of São Paulo. With capacity for more than twenty thousand fans, the stadium was the stage for great matches of São Paulo and national football, establishing itself as one of the temples of Brazilian regional football. In recent decades, Ferroviária stood out especially in the São Paulo Cup, a competition that brought together the best clubs from the interior and promotion levels of São Paulo football. The club maintains a consistent training base, regularly revealing talents that pursue careers in the largest clubs in Brazil and abroad, honoring the railway tradition of Araraquara.
