Ferroviário de Alagoas
Centennial club from Alagoas, founded in 1913, is one of the most traditional institutions in Alagoan football. It actively participates in the Alagoas Championship and has represented its state in national competitions.
History
Ferroviário de Alagoas was founded in 1913 by railway workers who worked at the now-defunct Great Western of Brazil Railway. The club developed as a hub for the development of Alagoan football, particularly in athlete training. Wearing red and white colors, it won several state titles and is known for its combative tradition. Rei Pelé Stadium, the largest arena in Maceió, hosts its main matches. The nickname Lion of the Backlands reflects the club's strength in the northeastern interior.
