History
Ferroviário Esporte Clube was created in 1913 in Recife as a result of the merger of local railway groups. Throughout the twentieth century, it won numerous titles in the Pernambuco Championship and participated in significant disputes in the history of northeastern football. The club is known for its tradition and the development of talents who went on to major national clubs. Its stadium, Arruda, is a historic symbol of Recife football and hosted memorable classics among the region's traditional teams.
