History
After winning the Copa Libertadores and the Intercontinental Cup in 1981, Flamengo maintained the squad of players developed in Rio de Janeiro and remained one of the main forces in Brazilian football in the early 1980s. In 1982, the club won the Brazilian Championship by defeating Grêmio in the final. It was the third national title for the red-and-black club, after the victories in 1980 and 1981 already registered in the portal. In 1983, Flamengo repeated the feat and became Brazilian champion again, surpassing Santos in the final. The team had the midfield and attack as its hallmarks, with Zico as the main technical reference and Júnior, Leandro and Adílio forming the backbone of the squad.
