Flamengo 2020
Flamengo's squad for the 2020 season, marked by the conquest of the Brazil Super Cup, the Carioca Championship and the Brazilian Championship. The team went through three coaches during the year: Jorge Jesus, Domènec Torrent and Rogério Ceni.
History
Flamengo started 2020 as champions of the Copa Libertadores and the Brazilian Championship of 2019, under the command of Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus. In February, the club defeated Athletico Paranaense 3-0 and won the Brazil Super Cup. The covid-19 pandemic interrupted the schedule in March. When competitions resumed, Flamengo finished the 2020 Carioca Championship as champions. In July, Jorge Jesus left the club to coach Benfica. Domènec Torrent took over the team and was replaced by Rogério Ceni in November. Under Ceni's command, Flamengo won the 2020 Brazilian Championship, the seventh in the club's history, leaving Internacional in second place. The squad maintained the 2019 champion core, with players such as Gabigol, Arrascaeta, Everton Ribeiro, Filipe Luís and Diego Ribas.
