History
Flamengo arrived at the 2025 season with Filipe Luis as manager, who had been Copa Libertadores champion as a player for the club in 2019 and 2022. He became the second Brazilian to win the tournament as both a player and a coach. In the Copa Libertadores, Flamengo eliminated Racing in the semifinal, with a 1-0 victory in the first leg and a goalless draw in the return match. The final was played on November 29, 2025, at the Monumental Stadium in Lima, against Palmeiras. Flamengo won 1-0, with a header from Danilo at 67 minutes, after a corner kick taken by Arrascaeta. The title added to those of 1981, 2019, and 2022, making the club the first Brazilian four-time champions of the competition. In the 2025 Brazilian Championship, Flamengo secured the title with one round to spare and finished with 79 points, three more than Palmeiras, runners-up with 76. The 1-1 draw with Atlético-MG secured the trophy.
