Flamengo Regatta Club
Flamengo is the club with the most supporters in Brazil and one of the most popular in the world. Its history is marked by continental and national titles, as well as revealing numerous stars throughout the decades.
History
Founded in 1895 as a rowing club, Flamengo incorporated football in 1911 after merging with Flamengo Football Club. In 1981, it won the Copa Libertadores and the Club World Cup for the first time, with Zico as the main star. After decades without a continental title, the club shone again in 2019 with a historic campaign in the Copa Libertadores under the command of Jorge Jesus. In 2022, it won its third Copa Libertadores, establishing itself as the greatest club in South American football of the 21st century.
