History
Fluminense Football Club was founded on July 21, 1902 by Oscar Cox, being one of the pioneers of football in Brazil. Throughout the twentieth century, the club consolidated itself as one of the great forces of carioca and national football, winning numerous state and national titles. The club achieved great accomplishments, such as the Brazilian Championship in 1970, 1984, 2010 and 2012, as well as titles in the Copa do Brasil. In 2023, Fluminense experienced its most historic moment by winning the Copa Libertadores de América, an unprecedented title in the continental competition. Headquartered in Rio de Janeiro and playing its matches at the Maracanã, Fluminense maintains the tradition of developing great players in its youth categories, being recognized for its technical playing style.
