Fluminense de Teresina

Fluminense de Teresina

One of the most traditional clubs in Piauí football, Fluminense de Teresina boasts numerous state titles and is one of the main rivals in the state capital's football.

History

Founded in Teresina in 1946, Fluminense quickly became one of the pillars of Piauí football, alongside traditional rivals such as River-PI. The club adopted burgundy and white colors in tribute to Fluminense Football Club from Rio de Janeiro, a reference that gave rise to the team's name and visual identity. For decades, Fluminense de Teresina featured in memorable classics of Piauí football, winning several titles of the Piauí Championship and forming generations of players who later played for clubs of greater national prominence. Currently, the club remains one of the traditional forces in the state, competing in the Piauí Championship and national access competitions, maintaining Lindolfo Monteiro Stadium as its main home.
