Friburguense Athletic Club
Club from the mountainous region of Rio de Janeiro, traditional in the interior of Rio de Janeiro State and frequently present in the divisions of the Campeonato Carioca.
History
Founded in 1913 in the city of Nova Friburgo, in the mountainous region of Rio de Janeiro State, Friburguense is one of the oldest and most traditional clubs in the interior of Rio de Janeiro State. Throughout its history, the club alternated participations between the access divisions and the elite of the Campeonato Carioca, being recognized as one of the main forces in football outside the capital of the state. Friburguense maintains a strong regional identity, serving as a representative of the mountainous region in state competitions organized by the Rio de Janeiro State Football Federation.
