History

Founded on September 7, 1922 in Rio Branco, Galvez Esporte Clube was born on the banks of the Acre River as a sports project of the local community. The name honors Luis Galvez Rodrigues de Arias, a Spanish adventurer who proclaimed the ephemeral Independent State of Acre in 1899, becoming a legendary figure in regional history. Over more than a century of existence, Galvez established itself as the greatest winner of the Acre Championship, conquering dozens of state titles and becoming synonymous with Acre football. Its green and white colors are the most recognized in the state, and the rivalry with Rio Branco Esporte Clube forms the most important classic in Acre football. The Florestão Stadium, located in Rio Branco, is the club's main home and the venue for the greatest battles in the history of local football. With capacity for approximately 10,000 spectators, the stadium carries decades of memories and emotions of Acre football. In the 2000s and 2010s, Galvez participated prominently in the Copa do Brasil and Series C and D of the Brazilian Championship, bringing Acre's name to the national scene and revealing talents who continued their careers at more prominent clubs in Brazil.
