Catalan club founded in 1930 that spent decades between the lower divisions of Spanish football. In 2024 it experienced its historic season by finishing in 3rd place in La Liga, securing its first participation in the UEFA Champions League 2024-25.

History

Founded on July 23, 1930, Girona adopted the silver and red colors of the municipal coat of arms. For decades it alternated between the second and third Spanish divisions, achieving promotion to La Liga for the first time in 2017. In 2023-24, under the co-ownership of the City Football Group, the club surprised by finishing 3rd in La Liga with 81 points, surpassing giants like Atlético Madrid and securing a historic place in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League 2024-25.
