O Grêmio de 2005, comandado por Mano Menezes, foi campeão da Série B do Campeonato Brasileiro e voltou à primeira divisão em 2006, depois de ser rebaixado em 2004.
Grêmio 2005
Grêmio squad that won the 2005 Brazilian Championship Series B, under the command of Mano Menezes, and returned the gaucho club to the elite of national football after the 2004 relegation.
History
Grêmio Foot-Ball Porto Alegrense, founded on September 15, 1903, was relegated to Series B in the 2004 Brazilian Championship, a rare blow in the trajectory of a club that was champion of the Copa Libertadores and Club World Cup. For 2005, the club bet on coach Mano Menezes to lead the reaction in the second division. The team faced Series B with full focus on promotion and finished the competition as champions, guaranteeing their return to Series A in 2006. The 2005 Series B title was the starting point of a new cycle. Under the same technical command, Grêmio once again conquered the Gaúcho Championship and reached the final of the 2007 Copa Libertadores, in which it was runner-up.
