History

Founded in 1999 in the city of Barueri, Grêmio Esportivo Barueri emerged as an ambitious project from one of the most economically dynamic regions of São Paulo state. In its early years, the club competed in the Campeonato Paulista in lower divisions, progressively gaining prominence in state football. The club's rise was notable: it won the Copa Paulista in 2006, which granted it national visibility. In 2007, the club achieved promotion to Serie A of the Brazilian Championship after an excellent campaign in Series B, reaching the elite of Brazilian football. The period in elite football was brief, but remarkable for the city of Barueri, which became the venue for high-level matches at Arena Barueri, a modern stadium shared with the São Paulo state team on some occasions.
