History

Founded in 1911 in the city of Pelotas, Grêmio Esportivo Brasil is one of the most traditional clubs in the interior of Rio Grande do Sul. It participated in various editions of the Gaucho Championship and played a significant role in football in the southern region of the state throughout the twentieth century. The club played its home matches at Bento Freitas stadium, which also hosted matches from other clubs in the city. Throughout its history, it alternated seasons in the access divisions of Gaucho football.
