History

Founded in 1936 in the city of Penápolis, in the interior of São Paulo, Grêmio Penapolense built its trajectory alternating between divisions of São Paulo football. The club gained national notoriety in the first half of the 2000s, when it achieved access to higher divisions of the São Paulo Championship and competed in the Brazilian Cup, facing teams with greater tradition. Despite modest structure, Peixão stood out for revealing players to bigger clubs and for maintaining constant presence in regional competitions. The Penapolense crowd is recognized for its loyalty, especially in decisive games against rivals in the northwestern region of São Paulo. In the following years, the club continued competing in access divisions of São Paulo football, maintaining its base in youth categories as the main institutional characteristic.
