History
Founded in 1903 by German immigrants in Porto Alegre, Grêmio built one of the richest histories in gaucho football. In 1983, it won its first Copa Libertadores and the Club World Cup. In 1995, it repeated the feat in the Libertadores, now with Ronaldinho Gaúcho in its youth academy. In 2017, it won its third Copa Libertadores with Renato Gaúcho as coach, defeating Lanús in the final.
