Club Deportivo Guadalajara

Guadalajara, known as Chivas, is Mexico's most traditional club and the only one in the first division to exclusively field Mexican players. Founded in 1906, it is a symbol of national pride and has one of the largest fan bases in the country. Its modern stadium, the Akron, was inaugurated in 2010.

History

Chivas won 12 Mexican Championship titles, being one of the most successful clubs in Liga MX history. The club is famous for its policy of only signing Mexican players, which makes it a symbol of national football. In the 2000s, it experienced a renaissance with back-to-back championships in 2005 and 2006. In 2017, they won the CONCACAF Champions League for the first time.
