History

Founded in 1946 in the city of Juazeiro do Norte, Guarani Esporte Clube established itself as one of the representatives of Ceará's interior in state football. Throughout its history, it competed in several editions of the Ceará State Championship, alternating between the first and second state divisions. The club has strong regional rivalry with other teams from Cariri in Ceará, especially Ferroviário and Icasa, playing classics that mobilize the local fan base. Its headquarters and the Romerao Stadium are sports landmarks in the southern region of the state. In recent decades, Guarani-CE has played mainly in the access divisions of Ceará football, seeking to return to the state elite and keep alive the football tradition of Juazeiro do Norte.
