History

Founded in 1935 in the city of Divinópolis, Guarani Esporte Clube established itself as one of the main representatives of football from inland Minas Gerais throughout the twentieth century. The club alternates between participation in the first and second divisions of the Campeonato Mineiro, maintaining a strong connection with the local community. Throughout its history, Guarani alternated between periods of greater competitiveness and periods of reconstruction, being a symbolic club of the Center-West region of Minas Gerais, alongside rivals such as Athletic Club, also from Divinópolis.
