Guarani FC

Guarani Football Club is the largest club in inland São Paulo and the only inland team to win the Brazilian Championship, achieved in 1978. A reference in developing talent, the Bugre has a century-old history and a passionate fan base in the Campinas region.

History

Founded on April 2, 1911 in Campinas, Guarani quickly established itself as the main club in the interior of São Paulo State. Throughout the first decades, the club accumulated regional titles and established itself in the state scenario. The greatest glory came in 1978, when Guarani won the Brazilian Championship — a historic feat that made the club the only one from Brazil's interior to win the national tournament. On that memorable team were players like Careca and Chiquinho, who captivated Brazilian football. In the following decades, Guarani alternated between stints in Serie A and Serie B, maintaining its identity and tradition as a football academy. The Brinco de Ouro da Princesa, its stadium, is considered one of the most beautiful in Brazil and the stage for unforgettable moments for Guarani fans.
